TYLA Programme Tailoring
TYLA tailors programmes in conjunction with community groups, the Police and
families to provide individual support to ensure the greatest likelihood of success.
Each child/young person and their family will have an individual plan that is put together from information gathered at the assessment stage with the Social Worker and Youth Aid Officer discussing what key priorities will be. The youth and their families are an integral part of the process, helping to identify goals and measures.
These plans are put in place and updated regularly, with the Social Worker recording outcomes, updates and next steps in the plan.
The goals and action steps in the plans are needs-assessed, age-appropriate and relevant to the ability level of the child/young person and/or their family. Plans are developmentally appropriate and will work alongside other programmes in place from the school or community agencies.
Each programme covers the four TYLA pillars of Wairua, Education, Whanau and Health, thereby helping deliver a complete and comprehensive programme.
