I have been employed with TYLA Youth Development Trust for over 4 years now, I previously worked at CYFS, Otahuhu and Manurewa over a 9 year period as a social worker, Snr Practitioner, Care & Protection supervisor, Acting Practice Leader.
I have never been so excited and enthusiastic about my role within TYLA and my team. This Otara community is such a great place to be working, building meaningful and strong relationships is important to me.
I hold a very strong passion for our youth of today and I understand the challenges and struggles they face day to day.
I have seen the impact of young people when there is no-one there for them, to hear them, to support them, to encourage them, to teach them, I believe TYLA plays a big part in providing our young people with the service they deserve. It takes time working with some of the complex issues our young people face today however, we hold the belief that every young person has the potential to become anything they want to be, their dreams don't have to be dreams they can be a reality.
